Doctor of the Year
Dear Colleagues,
It is with great pleasure that we write today to announce the winner of the first annual Maryland Naturopathic Doctor of the Year Award.
As you will recall, the Naturopathic Doctor of the Year Award recognizes:
– Leadership in the areas of professional development, continuing education, research, politics/policy, or otherwise increasing the strength of the naturopathic community and profession in Maryland.
– Individual achievement in the areas of clinical care, teaching, business, or other professional achievement.
The nomination can reflect both recent achievements as well as a consistent record of service for many years.
We received many excellent nominations this year, and hope to see many of those nominees mentioned again next year.
This year’s winner has been a member of the Maryland naturopathic community for nearly 20 years. He served on the board of the nascent Maryland Association of Naturopathic Physicians, working to push for licensure in the early days, when that seemed like just a dream.
Since that time, he’s built one of the most successful practices in the state, and has served as a mentor to many naturopathic doctors coming to the state, and helping to push along the licensure effort through consistent participation in lobbying efforts.
In recent years, rather than resting on his laurels, he has become increasingly involved in the effort to expand the naturopathic scope of practice to include prescriptive rights, serving on the Maryland Naturopathic Formulary Committee, and offering assistance (and patients to testify!) in the lobbying efforts.
For his leadership and service to the naturopathic profession in the state, please join us in congratulating Dr. Paul Faust for being the MNDA Naturopathic Doctor of the Year in 2020.
